Kaleo · In-Home Personal Training, Basel
Training that fits your life, not the other way round.
Starting point
A personal trainer who comes to the client sells something that is hard to show. There is no studio to photograph, no equipment wall, no address that says anything. What is being bought is a person and an hour of their attention, and both are invisible on a website. On top of that this field is loud. Most sites in it promise a body in twelve weeks, and that tone drives away exactly the people who would book a trainer for years rather than for a summer. Basel adds a second difficulty. The city draws clients from the region and from an international circle, so one language version is not enough. And the third hurdle is price. An hour with someone who comes to you costs more than a studio rate, because travel and preparation are paid for too. Put that number on the page unframed and people leave before they have understood what they are paying for.
What we built
The site opens with a sentence that names the mind before the muscle, and it keeps that register throughout. Instead of a price list there is a goal finder in three short steps: goal, level, rhythm, and at the end a recommendation rather than a quote. That inverts the order. First a visitor understands what suits them, then they see what it costs. The three services are described by what they change, not by what they contain, because a list of sessions and minutes tells no two providers apart. The method runs in four named stages, from the first conversation through the plan and the work itself to the point where progress gets reviewed and adjusted. That fourth stage is the actual difference from a gym, which is why it is written out rather than tucked into a clause. Numbers stand where a studio would otherwise stand: years in the job, clients worked with, sessions held, response time to an enquiry. The whole site is bilingual, and the chosen language sits in the address, so a forwarded link arrives in the same language. Both versions are written out as finished pages at build time, each with its own address and its own markup.
Result
The study shows that a service without premises can still feel solid. Two screens in, a visitor knows what this is, who is behind it and how the first hour works. The goal finder replaces the price list without hiding anything: it asks three questions and answers with a direction, and the price follows after, reaching someone who can place it. Being bilingual costs a second version of the same page rather than a second site, and both are findable on their own. For us it is the proof that restraint carries further than a promise in a loud field, and that a website can still show something when there is nothing to photograph.
